Day 30: The Assumption of Mary into Heaven
The Fourth Glorious Mystery of the Rosary
Revelation 12:1–6
A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was with child and cried out in labor and pain. Then another sign appeared: a great red dragon with seven heads and ten horns. His tail swept a third of the stars from the sky and cast them down to the earth. The dragon stood before the woman, ready to devour her child the moment He was born. She gave birth to a male child—the One who is to rule all nations with a rod of iron. Her child was caught up to God and to His throne, and the woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared by God, where she was cared for for one thousand two hundred and sixty days.
Today’s Virtue:
Final Perseverance and Purity of Body
Mary’s Whole Being Belonged to God
From the very first moments of her life to the final breath she drew on Earth, Mary lived entirely for God. Her body was a sanctuary of purity. Her heart was perfectly aligned with the will of the Father. Her soul magnified the Lord at every moment.
Because she never allowed sin to touch her, God allowed her body, the very vessel that carried Christ, to be taken, whole and undefiled, into heavenly glory. The Assumption is not only a privilege for Mary; it is a promise for us. It reveals our final destiny if we persevere in grace.
To emulate Mary is to ask for the grace to give God everything: mind, heart, soul, and body.
To ask Him to purify our intentions.
To strengthen our perseverance.
To teach us how to use our bodies with dignity, discipline, and holiness, always ordered toward His Kingdom.
